The Wild Robot spoiler-free review

Oct 21, 2024 | How good is DreamWorks' latest movie, The Wild Robot? Should you watch it?

First thing you will notice is that DreamWorks has brought their A-game to this movie, it is visual treat. This is story of Rozzum 7134, an intelligent robot who find herself in wilderness.

What would an intelligent robot do in the wilderness? Of course, follow its programming. And here you will notice movies is written by people who understand AI, and it’s fun to watch Rozzum adapt and showcase her capabilities.

You will see Rozzum follow her programming and even try to understand animals. But will understanding be enough? Will they accept her, or more so give her a task?
Rozzum trying to find task and almost getting a minor existential crisis is where we start to notice emotion and see her as more than a robot.

This is story of Rozzum 7134 becoming Roz when she unexpectedly finds an egg, her first task.
* All this happens very early in the movie

It’s a fast pace story and they don’t waste time and I like movies that don’t assume the audience is stupid.
Many animated movies when showing wilderness forget law of jungle, Wild Robot understands they are animals and they going to behave certain way because of there instincts.

Relation between characters (animals) are fun to watch. It is fiction and still this movie make it look very reasonable, as if ‘yes’, this is how they normally talk.

This movies shows how programming is similar to instinct and asks, can we overcome it?

Wild Robot has no turn-off, and you will never go, ‘Nah, this would not happen,’ ‘That’s not how they would behave,’ or ‘This is not how it works.’

Now enough even about logic, how is the story?
Oh, for that you have to watch it, but i will say this “The Wild Robot is a cinematic experience and you are going to love it.”
